The fourth class of wheat belongs to a weak species and needs to be improved, without which it cannot be used for food purposes.

The fifth class of wheat is forage, used exclusively for the full nutrition of farm animals. Feed grain is considered a concentrated feed, which is part of the main diet in animal husbandry. Wheat grains with an increased amount of cellulose are used to feed horses and cattle, and varieties with less cellulose are used to feed pigs and birds. Feed wheat has a high energy value and is often used as a compound feed.

The advantages of fodder wheat are that it is, first of all, a valuable food product. It contains useful trace elements that favorably affect the health and development of animals. The soft grade of fodder wheat allows it to be used for feeding fastidious animals, as well as birds. Wheat contains a sufficient amount of protein, it increases the level of growth and development of the animal. GOST R 54078 -2010, developed for this type of product, regulates the content of dry substances in it and regulates other quality indicators. Animals that eat this food gain weight faster and produce healthier offspring. Feed wheat has a high level of lysine, which is an important factor, because lysine helps to maintain a sufficient amount of useful amino acids in the animal's body. The level of phosphorus in wheat is also quite high, it has a beneficial effect on the body, and is easily absorbed in the digestive system.
